Weekly Meditation

Our weekly Silent Meditation will not be taking place in the church sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, but please do take the opportunity each day during our “sheltering at home”, to come into the quietness of your own sanctuary, perhaps a place you prepare at your own home or a spot outside, and feel the Spirit’s presence as you meditate and pray.

At the church, we practiced an unguided time of 30 minutes in silence.  Silence is profound and recommended, but you could also use a peaceful, instrumental background at low volume if desired.

This is a time to give yourself an opportunity to be still, to calm yourself at the end of a busy day, to relax and let your burdens go, to sit and give thanks for all your blessings….
“Prayer is not primarily saying words or thinking thoughts. It is, rather, a stance. It’s a way of living in the Presence, living in awareness of the Presence, and even of enjoying the Presence. The full contemplative is not just aware of the Presence, but trusts, allows, and delights in it.”  Fr. Richard Rohr
